A well-known international pharmaceutical company with sites around the globe is looking to hire a Senior Medical Advisor. The company specialises in developing and producing medicines and vaccines for a wide range of therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiology and immunology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • building and developing enduring peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and institutions, creating constructive, cross-functional partnerships
  • ensuring HCP and patient intelligence, interests and needs are fed back into the organization to support the safe and effective use of our medicines and to leverage unmet medical and educational needs
  • providing high-quality, accurate, balanced and directed information to HCPs and other stakeholders through various channels and means
  • supporting Brand Strategies as well as Brand related Market-Access activities through data generation projects (such as investigator initiated research (IIR), local studies and feasibilities for phase 1-4 studies), delivering high quality disease/brand training, reviewing promotional materials and representing the medical/scientific expertise and leadership in the X-functional Team for the assigned products' portfolio and the relevant Therapeutic Area(s)
  • ensuring the clinical relevance and value of our medicines understood by HCPs, patients, regulators, payers and internal stakeholders while maintaining the primacy of patients' best interest


Skills and Requirements:

  • MD and/or PhD in Life sciences
  • Working experience in clinical practice / hospital
  • Working experience in pharmaceutical industry (several years) with experience in medical affairs
  • Specialization in gastroenterology or rheumatology advantageous
  • Being familiar with Portuguese Health Care System and in general, good knowledge and understanding of how Healthcare Systems are organized and operate
  • Ability to critically and objectively evaluate, interpret and contextualize medical-scientific data
  • Ability to critically and objectively interpret and evaluate competitive business-related information
  • Strong interpersonal skills to quickly build credible relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Well-organized with the ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple or even conflicting demands, effectively and efficiently manage complex projects to meet deadlines and bring results
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and influence others within a complex-, matrix-environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • High level of self-motivation, to be pro-active and a self-starter
  • Very good knowledge of English (speaking, writing)
  • Good understanding and successful use of current computer software
