Proclinical is seeking a Freelance Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support medical affairs strategies in the cardiovascular and rare disease space. In this role, you will leverage your clinical expertise and business acumen to engage with key stakeholders, identify market trends, and provide scientific insights. This position is field-based, requiring travel within Belgium, and offers an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in a dynamic therapeutic area.
Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location or hold an EU passport.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to enhance awareness and appropriate use of products.
- Identify and support investigator-initiated study (IIS) opportunities, acting as the primary liaison with investigators.
- Monitor and report emerging clinical trends and insights from the healthcare environment.
- Assist in the development of advisory boards, symposia, and publication planning on a project basis.
- Collaborate with the Country Medical Director to develop strategic and tactical plans.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on MSL processes, driving improvements and sharing best practices.
- Work closely with Medical Representatives and Commercial teams to align strategies with patient and business needs.
- Provide accurate, balanced medical and scientific education to internal and external stakeholders.
- Attend and support conferences and meetings, offering scientific expertise.
- Respond to medical inquiries with relevant and appropriate information.
- Stay updated on scientific advancements, therapeutic areas, and competitor products.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards, internal policies, and adverse event reporting requirements.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Background in science or healthcare, with a degree in medical, natural sciences, pharmacology, or biomedical sciences.
- Experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 75%, including overnight stays).
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- High level of planning and adaptability to meet organizational needs.
- Proven experience presenting to diverse audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with an understanding of local commercial processes.
- Self-motivated, independent, and collaborative team player.
- Critical thinker with a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare landscape.
