RN Nurse Research Coordinator - Contract - Detroit, Michigan
Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and compassionate RN Nurse for Research Coordination.
Primary Responsibilities:
This role involves providing, supervising and documenting patient care and education, working closely with the principal investigator to ensure research protocol objectives are met. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and recruiting patients into study protocols, providing ongoing education and emotional support to patients.
Skills & Requirements:
- Graduate from a school of nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Current BLS certification or ACLS if required by research protocol.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel.
- Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access preferred.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State of Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
The RN Nurse Research Coordinator's responsibilities will be:
- Perform physical and psycho-social assessments on patients as per research protocol.
- Review patient medical records and interpret medical findings.
- Ensure all required evaluations, procedures and eligibility criteria are met before patient acceptance into the research protocol.
- Serve as a liaison to support patients through multi-disciplinary interventions and treatment modalities.
- Provide complete documentation of patient status throughout the study protocol participation.
- Coordinate and participate in the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process for new protocol submissions, amendments, renewals, revisions, adverse events, and final reports.
- Participate in research meetings to identify and/or relate research-related issues and provide for appropriate solutions.
- Inform, educate and in-service other research personnel and clinicians regarding overall protocol requirements and on a per patient basis as necessary.
