Procurement Specialist - Contract - Raleigh, NC

Proclinical is seeking a Procurement Specialist - MRO to support purchasing and inventory planning for raw materials and consumables required by production schedules.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be involved in strategic sourcing, supplier relations, and leadership responsibilities within the procurement function. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and operational continuity.
Skills & Requirements:
- Purchase a variety of items and services, ensuring best price, quality, and delivery.
- Process purchase orders using MRP systems and manage associated paperwork.
- Maintain compliance with approved supplier lists and internal procedures.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, including sourcing and obtaining quotes.
- Plan, schedule, track, and expedite materials to meet production needs.
- Maintain minimum stock levels and ensure smooth inventory flow.
- Interface with production, quality control, and facilities teams to plan material usage.
- Provide materials orientation to new employees.
- Mentor junior purchasing staff and oversee their development.
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to improve cost, quality, and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Procurement Specialist's responsibilities will be:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience.
- Strong background in purchasing, planning, inventory, and production control.
- Familiarity with SAP and computerized inventory/MRP systems preferred.
- Knowledge of cGMPs, ISO, and FDA requirements is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to interface effectively with suppliers.
- Experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industries preferred.
- Certified Purchasing Manager or APICS certification is advantageous.
