Data Engineer

Proclinical are recruiting a Data Engineer for a pharmaceutical organization. This is located in Bern. The client is focused on producing healthier societies as well as improving accessibility and affordability of pharmaceuticals. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Arrange and structure databases using multiple modern cloud and big data technologies.
• Produce data models rendering to the needs and use vases of business analytics and data science.
• Collaborate with others in an agile work setting with accountability for specific subjects, for example: DevOps, or data architecture.
• The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and development of the new data platform in the Azure Cloud.
• Manage the connection of data sources and development of transformation and data integration procedures.

Skills & Requirements:

• Educated to a degree level in a computer scientific or similar discipline.
• Programming capabilities, such as Python, Java or Scala and SQL.
• Acquaintance with decentralised systems and mastery of tools, for example: Apache Spark, Apache Flink or Apache Beam.
• Know-how of data modelling, data storage and data access practices.
• Familiarity with big data architectures and integration models.
• Past involvement in cloud technologies, preferably in the Azure cloud with Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Data Factory, Data Fabric, etc.
• Fluency in the German or French languages with knowledge in English.
