Proclinical are recruiting for a Cloud & Database Engineer to join a Cloud & Database Engineer to join a biotech organisation. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in Frankfurt.

Responsibilities:

Guide the execution and configuration of scalable AWS infrastructure, which involves compute and storage configurations.
Work alongside interdisciplinary teams to form seamless interfaces for data acquisition from sequencing facilities, public data sources and clinical samples.
You will migrate current pipelines, guaranteeing that version control and acknowledging possible challenges, for example: data volume and environment dependencies.
The ideal candidate will develop and uphold both production and development settings, integrating and working with crucial tools such as Nextflow, Conda, and Matlab.
Responsible for automating procedures, containerising applications, and growing interfaces to foster a dynamic and effective computational ecosystem supporting research teams.
Other duties may be assigned.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Educated to a degree level in a computer science, bioinformatics or similar field.
Demonstrable experience in HPC and cloud infrastructure management.
Know-how of Amazon Web Services, which involves AWS parallel server, VPC networking, S3, EC2, RDS, EFS, etc.
Expertise on AWS clous resources management and optimisation.
Knowledge of Terraform and containerisation technologies such as Docker/Singularity.
Acquaintance with SLURM and workflow management systems such as Nextflow.
Competent in scripting languages such as Python, SQL, etc.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Github.
Works well with others n a team.
Communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Able to think analytically with the capacity to resolve issues.
