Bench Scientist 3 - Vaccines

Proclinical is advertising a vacancy for a Bench Scientist III - Vaccines position with a leading pharmaceutical company. The organization develops innovative products across multiple therapy areas including cardiovascular, oncology, and respiratory fields. Based in the company's Gaithersburg office, this is an exciting opportunity to work with an internationally renowned company and support their innovative impact on the drug safety field.

The Bench Scientist III will implement and optimize experimental protocols in the areas of protein purification and analytics. Prior experience in recombinant protein purification from mammalian and/or bacterial expression systems using Akta FPLC systems is required. Hands on experience with high throughput purification, protein expression, tangential flow filtration or HPLC systems would be an added advantage.

Job Responsibilities:

• Carefully executing and documenting experiments/technical studies/tasks with minimal supervision whilst maintaining good scientific practice.
• Participating in experimental planning by applying critical thinking, experience, and scientific knowledge to the data analysis.
• Interpreting results and communicating to the supervisor.
• Operating and maintaining designated lab equipment and training others as needed.
• Participating in project meetings, contributing detailed oral or written summaries of results.

Skills and Requirements:

• A BSc or MSc in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, virology, biophysics, structural biology, or other vaccinology-related disciplines.
• At least 4 years of experience, including in Protein Biochemistry, dependent on education level.
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of Vaccines strategy and objectives.
• Prior experience in protein purification.
• Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
• Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
• Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
• Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
