Proclincal is recruiting a Research Associate to Associate Scientist, Molecular Biology for a biotech company located in Cambridge, MA. This client is focused on developing innovative vaccines for various disease areas using their proprietary RNA platform.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for designing novel mRNA payloads for early research projects through to lead selection.
 - Generate and supervise plasmid production and IVT for mRNA production.
 - Support cross-functional efforts for plasmid and mRNA characterization.
 - Assist with supporting efforts on internal and outsourced projects (e.g., cloning, plasmid production, IVT, transfection, SDS-PAGE, Western, agarose gel, external sequencing).
 - Be a part of growing team in our in-person hands on laboratory where we will focus on growing great science, core lab work, data analysis, as well as instrument maintenance.
 - Focus your passion on creating science where patients' needs, and scientific discovery are our driving force.
 
Skills & Requirements:
- A degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline.
 - BS/BA or MS/MA in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field with >3 years laboratory work experience.
 - Experience in cancer and/or infectious disease.
 - Experience in vaccines and/or mRNA technologies.
 - Hands on experience with common Molecular Biology techniques such as Restriction digestion, Plasmid isolation, transformation, bacterial culture, PCR, RT-PCR, Vector design and Cloning, Agarose Gel electrophoresis, Mutagenesis, Sequence analysis, RNA isolation, In vitro transcription, PAGE-SDS, Protein extraction, Western blotting, Mammalian Cell culture, transfection.
 - Familiarity with molecular biology tools (Benchling, Snapgene, and common bioinformatics tools)
 - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 - Ability to deal with competing priorities, strong reasoning, detail oriented and problem-solving ability is essential.
 - Ability to work on teams and with multiple projects and work well under general direction with tight timelines.
 - Independently motivated to learn.
 - Passion for working at the bench to advance programs and solve technical challenges.
 - Self-motivation and adaptability to evolving project priorities and responsibilities.
 - Team-oriented, with a strong work ethic.
 - US Citizenship or valid Visa.
 - Strong data visualization and presentation skills.
 - Ability to work on multiple and diverse cellular immunology programs.
 - Good record keeping and experience using ELN.
