Proclinical is seeking an Associate Director/Director of Scientific Communications for a pharmaceutical company focused on bringing innovative products to patients with unmet medical needs. The company seeks to collaborate on and acquire promising therapies at various stages of development, and advance them through the clinical and regulatory process to deliver new treatment options to patients. The Associate Director/Director (AD/D), Scientific Communications reports to the VP, Scientific Communications and Medical Operations (SCMO) and is primarily responsible for supporting one of the client's development assets.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the scientific communications and training strategy, including the communication platform, and providing input into the overall product medical strategy.
  • Leading scientific content development competitive literature updates, and oversight of medical information activities.
  • Providing expertise to a wide variety of communication-related projects by engaging with internal and external departments.
  • Leading cross-functional data communication efforts, ensuring synthesis and publication of data to address unmet educational needs.
  • Identifying needs for HCP education and field medical resources; developing scientific communications and educational resources based on available data.
  • Ensuring quality, rigor, fair-balance, and integrity in developming publications, medical information, and medical communications materials.
  • Collaborating with SCMO peers to develop best-in-class capabilities for select Medical Affairs functions.

Skills and Requirements

  • Advanced degree with 5+ years in a biotechnology/pharmaceutical environment required, in-house or at an agency or consultancy.
  • A combination of scientific publication and cross-functional scientific and medical communication experience.
  • Ability to critically appraise medical/scientific literature with attention to strategic needs.
  • Able to travel for scientific congress meetings.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work individually, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
  • Experience in hematology a plus.
  • Prior pharmaceutical product launch experience preferred.
