Proclinical is seeking An AAV Gene Therapy Research Scientist for a leading gene therapy company located in Boston, MA. The successful applicant will join a motivated and dynamic team who will be responsible for working with fellow scientists in contributing to the development of AAV vectors for gene therapy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead AAV production and purification systems to produce research-grade AAV vectors
- Contribute to construct design, plasmid prep, transfection, AAV production, and purification
- Contribute to experimental design, execution, data analysis, and report
- Perform various experiments to screen gene therapy drug candidates
- Commitment to writing SOPs and reports
Skills and Requirements:
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in molecular biology, cell biology, virology, immunology, or related discipline required
- Hands-on experience with AAV production and purification highly preferred
- Familiar with HEK293 cells and/or baculovirus system preferred
- Extensive hands-on skills and experience with molecular biology, cell culture techniques, and cell-based assays
- Proficient in mammalian cell culture, transfection, Western, ELISA, flow, ddPCR techniques
- Experience in cloning DNA constructs in bacterial systems
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
- Responsible and efficient with the lab assignments
- Ability to be highly productive in a fluid, fast-paced team environment
