A vacancy has arisen for a Supply Chain Specialist II with an internationally renowned pharmaceutical company, based in their California office. This organization is known for its solid commercial portfolio of life-saving drugs within a number of therapy areas, along with a growing pipeline of investigational drugs and an unmatched patient access program. Job Responsibilities:
- Ensuring timely availability of APIs from the CMO to company DP sites and maintaining appropriate inventory at our global warehouses.
- Working on non-routine to routine problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Ensuring record-tracking of pertinent data is being completed through computerized systems and providing recommendations and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Providing training to Supply Chain personnel.
- Analysing non-routine information or data to support Supply Chain activities - e.g. inventory levels, prices and tracking of shipments, inventory positioning, material deliveries, planned master production schedule, and sales forecasts.
- Making recommendations affecting longer-term inventory levels, sources, handling etc.
- Participating in the planning and controls of materials and finished goods to meet sales and distribution demand.
- Compiling and analyzing statistical data to assist with decision-making.
- Initiating or receiving requests for routine changes affecting inventory levels, e.g. shipments, purchases, movement of stock.
- Performing necessary transactions and records in system to reflect changes.
- Preparing standard shipping documentation.
- Selecting batches to send to assigned sites and monitors re-order points.
- Identifying discrepancies in domestic shipments and initiating the resolution process with suppliers.
- Determining and initiating material disposal.
- Establishing timing (production schedules, sequence, lead time, etc.) of specific projects or activities to meet broader timeframes established by senior management.
- Tracking progress with department supervisors, readjusting schedules, and communicating changes according to production progress, changing orders, manpower requirements, product availability, or other conditions impacting timelines.
- Coordinating with other department representatives to identify future business needs.
Skills and Requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant experience in related field and a BS or BA; or 4+ year of relevant experience
- Fundamental understanding of Supply Chain Theories, Purchasing/Procurement, Planning, Scheduling, Inventory Control
- APICS certification and/or relevant course work
- Demonstrates a working knowledge with intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and production operations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) on a daily basis.
- Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
- Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
- Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
