Proclinical is seeking a Principal/Senior Research Associate Bioanalytical Assay Development for a leading gene therapy company located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate will be a creative scientist with demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in bioanalytical assay development. This individual will be responsible for the development and execution of bioanalytical methods to support our AAV-based gene therapy programs independently or with the guidance of senior scientist.
Job Responsibilities:
- Independently or with guidance, design, develop, troubleshoot, qualify and implement various bioanalytical assays and provide various bioanalytical assay support for all gene therapy programs.
- Conduct routine sample testing to support gene therapy research and development
- Author study reports, SOPs, and assay procedures
- Maintain detailed and well-organized documentation with best industry practice
- Effectively analyze, summarize and present the data to the project teams
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional team members
Skills and Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Cell and/or Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Immunology or related disciplines, with 5+ years of postdoctoral laboratory or industry experience working in a neuroscience, immunology, AAV gene therapy, or bioanalytical laboratory.
- Extensive technical and hands-on experience in development, optimization, qualification, validation and method transfer of various bioanalytical assays in different biological matrices (rodent, NHP, human, etc.) for non-GLP/GLP studies
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in cell culture and cell-based assays, cell and tissue processing, ELISA, western blot, RT-qPCR, bDNA assay, ddPCR, LC-MS/MS, MSD, SIOMA and other various platforms
- Ability to learn new techniques and perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proven ability to work independently and to be a good team player in a hands-on laboratory setting
- Self-motivated, have pro-active and positive can-do attitude

- Strong scientific, computer, organizational, and documentation skills, attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Being willing to work in a fast-paced start-up environment with demonstrated capacity to handle multiple tasks and demands
- Experience in AAV gene therapy is a plus
