Proclinical is seeking to hire a Senior Electrical Test Engineer located in San Francisco, CA. As the Senior Electrical Test Engineer, you will lead the development of hardware test solutions for in-process manufacturing testing, incoming / final quality assurance testing, and some aspects of design verification testing.

The scope of this work includes developing and maintaining test strategies, test requirements, test fixtures, and test methods for hardware test solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop hardware test strategies and test requirements for production and design development in conjunction with stakeholders in Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of manual and automated test fixtures and test methods, including the verification and validation of test fixtures and test methods as applicable.
  • Document test fixtures, test methods, test protocols, and test reports in accordance with the quality system.
  • Oversee external vendors / contractors working on test fixture development, test methods, and test equipment maintenance.
  • Lead or support failure analysis of production issues, supplier issues, user experience issues, and verification testing issues as needed.
  • Support product development efforts by ensuring design inputs are testable, design outputs are testable, and that test methods used to evaluate / verify designs are robust.
  • Provide technical mentorship to less experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Continuously improve engineering best practices and advise team on appropriate documentation practices and use of tools.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience with electrical / electronic test methodologies including functional test, in-circuit test (ICT), flying probe, burn-in, x-ray inspection.
  • Experience leading projects within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience managing contractors & suppliers.
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment including oscilloscope, power supply, loads, signal generator, multimeter.
  • Managed development of automated test equipment (ATE) software, preferably LabVIEW.
  • Proficiency in failure analysis of electronics from system level down to component level through analysis of hardware schematics and layout, preferably in Altium.
  • Knowledge of hardware manufacturing processes including PCB fabrication and assembly.
  • Well-versed in product development processes and quality systems for medical devices, preferably Class III.
  • Experience with design and test requirement writing, verification testing, test method validation.
  • Ability to plan and organize time effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
