Proclinical is currently recruiting for a (Senior) Research Associate in Oligonucleotide Biology to join a newly founded Biotech in Boston, MA seeking to make the world's first programmable RNA medicines and deliver innovative oligonucleotide therapeutics to patients.

As a research associate in the in vitro biology group of this biotech, you will be part of a diverse team working on in vitro assays and measurements of drug activity. The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular biology, cell biology and in vivo assays. In this role you will work closely with colleagues to validate compounds and test novel technologies developed by the biotech. You will be supporting the development of the next generation of RNA drugs and ensuring that the current generation reaches all the patients that need it. We are seeking innovators thinkers and doers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and development of in vitro assays to evaluate impact of siRNA/antisense oligonucleotides on RNA transcripts, protein expression, and other project-specific assays
  • Apply molecular and cell-based assays including but not limited to RNA transfection, RNA & protein isolation, gene expression analysis (RT-qPCR & RNASeq), western blot, and fluorescence immunocytochemistry
  • Execution and understanding of protocols for protein chemistry and target validation, such as SDS-PAGE, ELISA, western blots
  • Provide support for basic tasks, such as mammalian cell culture
  • Perform experiments within the team
  • Clearly document experimental workflows and results
  • Communicate findings to the team and management when required

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree; relevant life sciences discipline preferred.
  • 2+ years laboratory experience
  • More than 5 years' experience for the senior position.
  • Biotech experience is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with siRNA, ASOs and gene silencing
  • Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial early-stage environment.
