Research Associate, Tissue Culture - Lexington, MA - Contract
Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and skilled Research Associate II for Tissue Culture. This is a contract position located in Lexington, MA.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting multiple projects focused on the creation and evaluation of in vitro human models and assays. This role requires a strong focus on tissue culture, protocol adherence, and effective communication.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proficiency in tissue culture, including strong aseptic technique and BSL2 stewardship, fixation and staining of cells, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to carry out complex protocols.
- Experience in basic molecular biology techniques.
- Experience working in a team environment, preferably within the industry (CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech).
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Proactive communication skills and cross-cultural understanding.
- Comfortable in asking for clarification and offering suggestions.
- Desirable skills include: propagation and manipulation of iPSC cultures, in vitro genome engineering, advanced cellular imaging and/or high throughput data collection skills, and ability to interpret interdisciplinary data.
- A strong desire to learn, ambition, and determination to contribute to improving patients' well-being.
The Research Associate will:
- Collaborate with scientists to conduct lab-based studies in support of project efforts.
- Perform tissue culture work with human cell lines to develop and optimize workflows for cell model creation and quality control.
- Support project management efforts in creating standard operating procedures, sharing knowledge and skills, and fostering cross-functional teamwork.
- Engage in effective communication with colleagues within the organization.
