Proclinical is seeking a dedicated Microbiologist to provide essential microbiological support across various departments. This role involves conducting microbiological testing to ensure the safety, quality, purity, and stability of products, components, and in-process stages. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become highly skilled within a flexible microbiology team and gain comprehensive experience in all areas crucial to running a microbiology department. This role is based in Waterford and is a full-time office based position.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct microbiological testing and support other sectors of the company including Microbiologists and Manufacturers.
  • Review and manage documentation.
  • Supply technical guidance to the QC Microbiology Team and external departments.
  • Execute QC-Micro testing, including water sampling, growth promotion, identifications, sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and plate reading.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the lab.
  • Represent QC Micro at cross-functional meetings.
  • Provide audit support as needed.
  • Support projects as required.
  • Maintain safety standards and report any safety issues or concerns.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Degree in Science or related area (Microbiology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Biochemistry preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of site KPI's.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems.
  • Motivated, ambitious, and goal-oriented individual.
  • Experience in Microbiology in a GMP facility, ideally in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in performing plate reading, water testing, endotoxin testing, sterility testing, requalification's, or knowledge of use and maintenance of microbiological equipment would be beneficial.
