Proclinical is advertising a vacancy for a Procurement Specialist position with a leading clinical supply chain company. The organisation is a leading force in end-to-end global clinical and ancillary supply chain management for middle- and large-market pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies, as well as contract and medical research organisation. Based in the company's Shanghai office, this is an exciting opportunity to work with an internationally renowned company and support their innovative impact on the healthcare field.
The Procurement Specialist will provide support to Business Operations, act as the primary point of contact, and provide implementation for the purchase order process. They will assist the Procurement Manager with overseeing the sourcing of ancillary clinical supplies for worldwide clinical trials with global pharmaceutical companies and Contract Research Organisations. Additionally, the Specialist will assist with the quote process and supplier qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sourcing, creating, and executing RFPs and RFQs.
- Building supply plans together with subsequent structured information analysis and business requirements.
- Conducting detailed supplier and supply market analysis looking facts, trends, and data analysis.
- Partnering with, and in support of Business Operations, executing continuous learning and product awareness programs for procurement and project management colleagues.
- Ensuring that supplier qualification criteria are being met.
- Coordinating Return Good authorisation activity.
- Assisting with the completion of supplier contracts, confidentiality agreements, credit applications, and other documents as required.
- Ensuring the appropriate contingency and remediation plans are in place for supply plans.
- Categorising the ancillary supply as high/medium/low risk per established and documented guidelines.
- Tracking supply delivery alerting internal stakeholders of estimated delivery times, changes in those times, and holding the supplier accountable for meeting agreed upon dates/times.
- Ensuring the company funds are expended for clinical supplies in compliance with the corporate grant of authority table and in conjunction with approved supply plans.
- Enhancing the department and organisation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different opportunities in the spirit of continuous improvement and providing a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Skills and Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Capable of working on a project to completion whilst meeting or exceeding timeline deliverables.
- Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
- Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
- Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
