Packaging Engineer - Contract - Onsite

Proclinical Staffing is seeking a Packaging Engineer to join a global biopharmaceutical company. This is a contract role located in Wilmington, DE.

Primary Responsibilities

The Packaging Engineer will join an energetic and friendly US Supply chain team focused on ensuring that every patient has access to their medicine in compliance with Health Authority requirements and in a timely manner. We are looking for someone with a passion for packaging engineering. This position requires excellent technical skills in areas of package design and testing as well as organizational skills to keep projects on time with our manufacturing partners to keep our products protected through their lifecycle.

Skills & Requirements:

Undergraduate or graduate degree (preference for Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering or Product Design)
Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives and while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong computer, organizational, and project management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, ArtiosCAD and Solidworks strongly preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with peers in organization.

The Packaging Engineer will:

Support all packaging activities under the direction of the Associate Director of Packaging Operations
Oversee product packaging life-cycle. Support all investigations relating to packaging issues and customer complaints. Implement improvements to design and/or process when appropriate.
Oversee technical activities related to new and existing product packaging, process improvement, and packaging validation.
Creation of packaging specifications and drawings using Solidworks, ArtiosCAD and Microsoft Office for all packaging components.
Review and Approve Packaging Validation activities at Contract Manufacturers
Prepare protocols and reports to facilitate Package testing at external testing sites. Testing to include ASTM 4169, USP 671 in compliance with regulatory and Guidelines.
Provide direction in determining appropriate drug product shipping qualification / validation studies. Recommend applicable test methods and standards based on product and package design.
Facilitate activities associated with labeling and artwork design for new commercial products, and with revisions for existing products. These activities are performed in cooperation with Global Labeling and Artwork Department.
Participate in the design of innovative packaging solutions that distinguish products.

Salary / Pay:

$38 per hour
