Lab Technician

Lab Technician - Contract - Camden, New Jersey NJ

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and organised individual to join a dynamic team in a new laboratory. This is a Lab Technician role on a temporary contracted based in Camden, New Jersey.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role focuses on assisting in experimental animal model systems to understand genetic and molecular mechanisms regulating sex differences in melanocyte function and melanoma progression. The successful candidate will be involved in both independent and team-driven projects, conducting experiments in melanocyte and melanoma cell lines and mouse models of melanoma.

Skills & Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
• Proficiency in mouse husbandry, PCR-based genotyping, cell culture, and DNA, RNA, and isolation of protein and detection approaches
• Expertise in standard molecular biology assays and protocols
• Experience in molecular cloning and cell culture as well as PCR
• Working knowledge of general principles in genetics and molecular biology
• Accurate and timely record keeping, impeccable organization and demonstrated interest in working in a laboratory setting
• Have the ability to work independently on different experiments and small research projects.

The Lab Technician's responsibilities will be:

• Maintain, collect and prepare records of data for presentations, papers, etc.
• Perform data analysis using statistical software packages
• Apply molecular and cell biology approaches to cell lines and animal studies
• Design gene knockout/knockdown experiments, qPCRs, among others
• Maintain a mouse colony and contribute experimentally to ongoing research projects
• Maintain laboratory bacterial culture stocks, mammalian cell culture stocks, DNA Plasmid stocks
• Train students in research methods and procedures as needed
• Order supplies, write and submit protocols, and maintain records of required training for all lab members
• Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation:

• $47,000 to $50,000
