Proclinical is seeking a Key Account Manager to join our team and focus on rare diseases within the Essen, Wiesbaden, Kaiserslautern, Saarbrücken, Aachen, and Düsseldorf territories. In this role, you will play a key part in driving patient identification, market development, and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals and treatment centers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of rare disease products while adhering to ethical and legal standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute territory strategies and account-specific plans to achieve sales, market share, and profit targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals and treatment centers to educate on products and remove barriers to healthcare provider decisions.
  • Identify and strengthen networks between centers and satellite clinics to improve patient care.
  • Organize and implement regional events to enhance diagnosis and treatment timelines.
  • Continuously assess sales opportunities and prioritize activities to optimize accounts with the highest potential.
  • Act as an ambassador for innovation and commitment to science in the rare disease space.
  • Provide training on treatment and product-specific aspects through virtual or face-to-face channels.
  • Analyze business and patient access opportunities and threats, providing actionable insights to address barriers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to co-create educational formats such as peer-to-peer meetings and roundtables.
  • Plan and execute educational programs, network meetings, and digital events within the territory.
  • Set and manage travel schedules and call plans to ensure adequate coverage of key accounts.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • A degree in Science, Economics, or qualification as a pharmaceutical representative under the Medicines Act (Arzneimittelgesetz).
  • Experience in commercial roles within hospital, academic medical center, or biotech industries; rare disease experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to work within cross-functional teams to address patient and caregiver needs.
  • Strong learning agility to understand rare disease administration.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage risk effectively.
  • High willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Proficiency in English with a willingness to further develop communication skills.
