Intellectual Property (IP) Analyst - Biotechnology

Proclinical is seeking a Intellectual Property (IP) Analyst for a clinical stage, speciality, Biotechnology company, to be based in Switzerland on a permanent basis. This biotech is seeking an experienced IP Analyst with the responsibility of reviewing patent and scientific documents and identifying key matters related to the IP portfolio of the Company. The IP analyst reports directly to the Head of IP.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage Freedom-To-Operate and Patentability searches
• Define and conduct the patent searches, analyse the search results and present the results in a form of reports and presentations
• Identify competitors and perform their monitoring on regular basis
• Identify possible infringers and perform their monitoring on regular basis
• Perform landscape analysis for new projects
• Assist IP team on summarizing patentability arguments over prior art and support IP team on patent prosecution upon need.

Skills and Requirements:

• At least 2 years of IP working experience
• Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Life Sciences-related discipline, with good knowledge in chemistry
• Attention for details
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills
• Ability to handle very sensitive and confidential matters
• Ability to digest complex scientific concepts and patent claims and explain them in understandable terms to scientists and patent attorneys
• Team player
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is mandatory
