Proclinical are recruiting a Head of R&D for a biotech corporation. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in Barcelona.

Responsibilities:

Form an internal preclinical development ability which guidance of projects is upheld internally, and external services and abilities are used to drive projects forward.
Work with others to follow through with the present development plan.
Offer scientific guidance from a drug discovery and development viewpoint.
You will stay notified on trends and developing developments concerning R&D in senescence, immunology and oncology and fibrotic diseases.
Other duties may be assigned to this role.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Educated to an advanced degree level or similar with training and familiarity in finding and preclinical development of drug candidates, ideally within immunology and oncology.
At least 5 - 10 years of experience within a pharmaceutical or biotech organisation.
Demonstrated ability in taking molecules from early discovery to DC nomination.
Communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Fluency in the English language.
Acquaintance with development methods for therapeutics, in particular biologics.
Comprehension of using patient derived clinical, epidemiological, and biological data and the implementation of such data to outline the drug discovery method which involves innovative target translation.
Capable of recognising, deliberating, forming and handling abilities from service suppliers and CROs.
Exhibited success in handling internal and partnered projects.
Leadership and interpersonal abilities.
Able to and keen on making things happen.
Willing to travel for business needs both regionally and globally.
