An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join a team in Manchester. This is an amazing opportunity to bring your expertise to a well-respected organization

Job Responsibilities

Work closely with the laboratory director and laboratory supervisor and act as shift manager
Perform all laboratory testing necessary for diagnosis
Be responsible for overseeing, reviewing and releasing laboratory testing performed by laboratory technicians and reporting results
Ensure equipment and instruments remain in good operating condition, recognize any malfunctions and troubleshoot as needed
Maintain updated understanding and knowledge of methods performed in the lab and train others on specialized instructions and protocols
Recognize, document, and escalate protocol deviations in lab to the laboratory director and/or laboratory supervisor
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agency requirements through proper documentation

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology
Experience as a Medical Technologist or equivalent in a clinical laboratory environment
Knowledge of biology, microbiology and immunology at a level required in medical technology
Knowledge of safety procedures relating to operation of laboratory equipment and handling of chemicals
Experience analysing and interpreting test procedures and results in order to determine appropriate correction action
Valid Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Experience operating at CL2 laboratory or above
