Proclinical is seeking a Buyer to join the expanding Operations department at a pharmaceutical company in Zurich. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving procurement activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines, requirements, and budgets. This position offers a dynamic and growth-oriented environment within the human diagnostics and life sciences industry.

Responsibilities:
- Lead project purchasing activities, ensuring procurement aligns with project timelines, requirements, and budgets.
- Negotiate and manage the supplier base to meet cost targets for projects and OEM business.
- Manage and optimize the supplier portfolio, ensuring suppliers meet standards for quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs.
- Represent purchasing interests in the product development process.
- Provide leadership and direction to the operational buyer, setting objectives and evaluating performance.
- Ensure procurement best practices are applied, optimizing processes and performance measurements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including FDA and ISO 13485.
- Maintain ERP procurement master data and handle purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Participate in supplier qualification, development, and audits.
- Issue and follow up on supplier quality claims.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Technical and/or commercial education with further education in Supply Chain Management.
- Strong technical understanding, including the ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in project-based work and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing direct reports.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience within the medical device industry is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel moderately to maintain supplier relationships.
