Biopharmaceutical Associate - Contract - Rockville, MD

Proclinical is seeking a Biopharmaceutical Associate for a contract role based in Rockville, MD. This position focuses on supporting the production and delivery of high-quality biopharmaceutical drug substances.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing processes while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
- 0-1 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing is ideal.
- Strong adherence to safety procedures and good documentation practices.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain data integrity.
- Willingness to work 24/7 rotating shifts.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing, and understanding).
- Familiarity with automation systems, digital platforms, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
The Biopharmaceutical Associate's responsibilities will be:
- Prepare, batch, pasteurize, filter, and deliver media and solutions for cell culture and purification operations.
- Set up, operate, clean, and break down process equipment.
- Perform sampling procedures using analytical instruments to analyze cell culture solutions and product concentration characteristics.
- Operate filter integrity equipment to confirm the integrity of filters before and after use.
- Monitor and trend process operations, equipment, and instruments to proactively identify and escalate issues.
- Set up fixed and mobile process equipment with CIP (Clean In Place) skids to execute validated cleaning and sterilization processes.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), protocols, and batch records to perform operations safely and document accurately.
- Adhere to safety policies and actively identify and address unsafe behaviors or conditions.
