Associate Scientist - Contract - Upper Merion, Pennsylvania

Proclinical is seeking an Associate Scientist for a contract role in Upper Merion, Pennsylvania. This position focuses on supporting manufacturing and engineering processes within the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the area of immunology and infectious diseases.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a key role in executing daily manufacturing tasks, maintaining high-quality documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Skills & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific/engineering field.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Knowledge of upstream equipment and processes, including media preparation and small-to-large scale analytical equipment (e.g., cell counters, centrifuges, tubing welders).
- Proficiency with process control systems such as PLC, DCS, and HMI.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literacy and ability to execute standard procedures and basic bench work.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
The Associate Scientist's responsibilities will be:
- Perform daily manufacturing tasks following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch documents.
- Dispense raw materials and perform cleaning-in-place (CIP) and sterilization-in-place (SIP) of product tanks.
- Operate and support upstream unit operations and related analytical equipment.
- Accurately document all manufacturing activities and maintain high-quality records.
- Follow safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
- Author, revise, and support SOPs, change controls, and deviations.
- Troubleshoot and perform non-routine work as needed.
