Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and strategic Associate Medical Director for Italy. This role serves as the country's medical and scientific senior lead expert, responsible for developing and executing local medical strategies and plans in alignment with regional and global objectives. The successful candidate will lead medical and scientific efforts, ensuring high scientific standards, compliance and cross-functional collaboration. This role also involves managing field activities, coaching the medical team and overseeing key account relationships with global opinion leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement local medical strategies for designated products.
  • Manage the in-country Medical Affairs field-based team, providing leadership, coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensure assignments align with the organisation's objectives and timelines.
  • Allocate and manage budgets effectively.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key External Experts and collaborate with scientific societies and advocacy groups.
  • Ensure the integrity of scientific data used in promotional claims and materials.
  • Provide onboarding and training to medical colleagues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the development of the Brand Plan.
  • Provide scientific and strategic input into reimbursement, value dossiers, and other market access related documents and activities.
  • Collaborate with local and regional/global teams on data evidence generation plans.
  • Support the performance of clinical trials in collaboration with the Regional Medical and Clinical Operations teams.
  • Manage Medical information activities.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Advanced degree like a MD, PhD, PharmD in a clinical or medical specialty is a necessity.
  • An advanced degree like a MS, MSN or a MPH is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a Medical Science Liaison role.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience.
  • Strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills in Italian and English.
  • Ability to develop credible relationships with medical professionals.
  • Strong budget planning & execution expertise.
  • Ability to prioritize initiatives and strategies related to their own area.
