Assistant Warehouse Manager

Proclinical is advertising a vacancy for an Assistant Warehouse Manager position with a leading supply chain company. This organisation specialises in overseeing the supply chain management needs of middle- and large-market pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies, as well as contract and medical research organisations. This role is based in Shanghai.

The Assistant Warehouse Manager will join an entrepreneurial team that focuses on safety, quality, customer service, and productivity. They will support the day-to-day functions of the organisation's distribution and assist with maintaining the order flow of all products. The Assistant Manager will also collaborate with and support leadership to ensure that effective logistics related safety, security, and regulatory training programs are maintained. Under the direction of the Global Distribution Manager, they will work with balancing labour and ensuring a balanced and efficient operation while meeting production goals.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assisting with managing all of the daily functions of the site's distribution and receiving activities.
• Setting up daily order work stream.
• Maintaining the order flow of all products and managing the customer delivery process.
• Conducting relevant risk assessments, ensuring actions arising from those assessments are implemented in a timely manner and meet all requirements for local and national law.
• Providing clear instructions, information, and adequate training to ensure that employees are competent to do their work.
• Maintaining records as may be required for site and/or personnel.
• Ensuring that in addition to SOP and Process Training, robust, effective logistics related safety, security, and regulatory employee training programs are delivered and that records are maintained.
• Assisting with managing distribution depot staffing requirements; balancing labour and ensuring a balanced and efficient operation while meeting production goals.
• Working in collaboration with Site & Corporate leadership for staff interviews, inductions, and exits.
• Maintaining and caring for logistics and warehousing hub.
• Maintaining, monitoring, and recording as may be required by Law and/or SOP compliance.
• Providing assistance with manging the reception process of materials and products.
• Ensuring the existence, maintenance, and functioning of an effective system of internal controls in all functional areas of the facility.
• Driving, implementing, and facilitating activities that improve coordination and communication within the logistics department.
• Collecting, managing, and disseminating site metrics as may be required.
• Facilitating the company's strategy to cultivate a fully engaged workforce, whilst engaging and consulting with employees on day to day concerns.
• Maintaining proper work conditions, providing and maintain plant equipment and machinery, and ensuring safe storage/use of substances; implementing emergency procedures, such as evacuation in case of fire.
• Assisting in other areas within the department and company as necessary.

Skills and Requirements:

• Being able to participate in off hour calls as needed.
• Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
• Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
• Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
• Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
