Structural Design Engineer - Permanent - Onsite

Proclinical is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join an experienced Engineering division. The successful candidate will hold overall responsibility for structural components for projects and produce full structural engineering works to meet project complex requirements for their biopharmaceutical client base. This is a permanent role located in the UK (various locations).

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the initial planning stages to present structural solution alternatives for the design team and the end client's requirements
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the typical design process phases and possesses practical experience with various project delivery methods.
  • Possesses a robust working knowledge of relevant building codes and current standards that influence structural design outcomes
  • Reviewing existing structural designs and associated drawings, offering recommendations for appropriate and appropriately scaled structural solutions for renovation, expansion, and retrofit projects.
  • Provide assessments and suggestions concerning applicable loads, as well as loading conditions
  • Applies contemporary design and modelling techniques to assess materials and connections, taking into consideration factors such as strength, durability, feasibility, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Capable of coordinating and addressing construction administration phase issues conveyed through RFI's and submittals.
  • Clear and effective communication of proposed design solutions to key stakeholders

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in cleanroom design (preferably GMP/ISO regulated biopharmaceutical cleanrooms)
  • Eng in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or other relevant Building Design discipline
  • Proven experience with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Robust understanding on BIM tools and software
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working to FDA/ISO/GxP standards is highly desirable but not essential
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, internally and externally
