Senior Director, Toxicology - Princeton, NJ - Permanent
Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and innovative Senior Director of Toxicology. This is a permanent position located in Princeton, NJ.
Primary Responsibilities:
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about developing first-rate small molecule therapeutics against high-value immunological targets. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team, leveraging a high-powered computation platform and industry-leading drug discovery team.
Skills & Requirements:
- A PhD in toxicology or related fields.
- Experience leading drug discovery and development programs in toxicology through significant milestones (candidate identification, first-in-man studies, proof-of-concept).
- Strong understanding of global regulatory guidelines that shape the toxicology program strategy.
- Highly efficient in managing multiple projects under timeline constraints.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team player: maintain effective interactions with internal and external collaborators.
- Ability to anticipate challenges and proactively devise mitigation plans.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
The Senior Director, Toxicology will:
- Provide expert scientific leadership in toxicology to program teams, ensuring quality preclinical packages to support clinical development.
- Design and conduct toxicology studies to understand compound toxicity and formulate program toxicology strategy accordingly.
- Interpret studies and generate concise safety assessments/reports for internal decision making.
- Contribute to the selection and timely development of clinical candidates through close interaction with discovery, CMC, clinical, and regulatory functions.
- Draft relevant sections of key documents supporting regulatory submissions (e.g. INDs).
