Senior Director, Software Engineering - Permanent - Durham, NC

Proclinical is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead and manage our software engineering team.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role focuses on developing and implementing software strategies aligned with company goals, overseeing software system design and maintenance, and driving cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Research & Development and Data Science teams.

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; Master's preferred.
Strong background in software architecture and design patterns.
Proficiency in relevant programming languages (Python) and knowledge of cloud services and cloud architecture.
Excellent communication and team management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
Experience in designing and managing data management infrastructure.
Experience in overseeing IT operations and infrastructure.

The Senior Director, Software Engineering's responsibilities will be:

Lead and manage the software engineering team.
Mentor and grow existing and new team members.
Define headcount needs and empower the team with appropriate opportunities.
Develop and implement software strategies aligned with the company's goals.
Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of software systems.
Drive cross-functional collaboration to integrate software with biotech wet and dry lab processes.
Ensure software quality, reliability, and scalability, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
Promote best practices for software engineering via design and code reviews.
Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Oversee the design and implementation of a robust data management infrastructure, including a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Manage and optimize cloud environments for scalability and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee IT strategy and implementation across the company.
Drive the implementation of data visualization tools for actionable insights.

Compensation:

USD $215 000 - $220 000
