RWE Epidemiologist - Contract - Sleepy Hollow, NY

Proclinical is actively seeking a proficient Epidemiologist to spearhead real-world evidence (RWE) activities within our client's Health Economics and Outcomes Research-Epidemiology Center of Excellence. This is a contract position located in Sleepy Hollow, NY.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be instrumental in informing, supporting, and enhancing our global development and commercialization activities in the internal medicine therapeutic area. Leveraging your expertise in epidemiologic study design, methods, and real-world data, you will design, conduct, and report on real-world evidence studies.

Skills & Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in epidemiology, public health, health services research, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in academia, pharma/biotech, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and drafting study protocols and statistical analysis plans using real-world data.
  • A track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Advanced knowledge of statistical methods used in the analysis of large electronic healthcare databases.
  • Familiarity with machine learning is advantageous.

The RWE Epidemiologist will:

  • Undertake observational research using claims or electronic medical records to augment understanding of disease epidemiology and real-world outcomes.
  • Formulate and review protocols and statistical analysis plans for studies assessing disease natural history, burden of illness, medication use patterns, healthcare resource utilization/costs, and treatment effectiveness.
  • Critically review and summarize literature, and query real-world data to estimate disease incidence and prevalence and characterize populations of interest.
  • Write epidemiology sections of regulatory documents.
  • Work closely with internal partners to assess RWE needs and provide epidemiology support.
  • Collaborate with HEOR colleagues and other internal partners to disseminate RWE in compliance with company, industry, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated with guidance documents and communications impacting RWE strategies and generation.
