Proclinical are recruiting a Research Associate for a biotech organisation. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in the UK.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for designing innovative mRNA payloads for early research projects through to lead selection.
- Produce and monitor plasmid production and IVT for mRNA production.
- Support efforts on internal and outsourced projects, such as cloning, plasmid production, IVT, transfection, SDS-PAGE, Western, agarose gel, external sequencing, etc.
- Manage sterile practice, preferably with mammalian cell culture.
- Assist with cross-functional efforts for plasmid and mRNA characterisation.
- Other duties may be assigned to this role.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Educated to a degree level in a molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, biology or similar field with at least 3+ years of experience in lab work.
- Practical familiarity with common molecular biology practices such as Restriction digestion, Plasmid isolation, transformation, bacterial culture, PCR, RT-PCR, Vector design and Cloning, Agarose Gel electrophoresis, Mutagenesis, Sequence analysis, RNA isolation, In vitro transcription, PAGE-SDS, Protein extraction, Western blotting, Mammalian Cell culture, transfection, etc.
- Presentation abilities with solid data visualisation skills.
- Able to keep records.
- Prior involvement with using ELN.
- Acquaintance with molecular biology tools such as NGS bioinformatics, Benchling, Snapgene, and common bioinformatics tools.
