Research Associate: Formulations - Contract / Permanent - Cambridge, MA

Proclinical is seeking a Research Associate specializing in Formulations to join a dynamic team in Cambridge, MA. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative pharmaceutical research in the rare disease space.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will focus on drug product characterization, stability studies, and formulation development for small molecules.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proficiency with analytical instruments such as HPLC, dissolution, DSC, TGA, SEM, PXRD, particle sizers, and familiarity with other pharmaceutical development techniques.
  • Knowledge of small molecule development and solid oral dosage forms.
  • Understanding of physical and chemical characterization of molecules, including solid-state and solution properties.
  • Familiarity with drug product characterization technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to invite discussion and provide clear, timely updates.
  • Educational background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields (BSc with relevant experience or MS with some exposure to small molecule development).

The Research Associate: Formulations' responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct physical and chemical characterization of drug products and monitor in-house stability studies.
  • Support the identification of critical drug product characteristics and biopharmaceutical properties impacting formulation development.
  • Assist in developing and testing in-vitro performance methods for drug products or intermediates.
  • Present scientific data and conclusions within internal departments.
  • Enter data into electronic lab notebooks (ELN), review data, and author reports.
  • Review data and reports from external laboratory partners related to physiochemical characterization activities.

Compensation:

  • $39.00 - $43.00 Per Hour
