QC Laboratory Technician - Contract - Marietta, PA

Proclinical is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented QC Laboratory Technician. This is a contract position based in Marietta, PA.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting environmental monitoring and utility samples, performing routine laboratory tasks, and ensuring compliance with company policies and cGMP standards. This role also involves maintaining laboratory equipment, identifying potential problems, and communicating these situations with the appropriate personnel.

Skills & Requirements:

  • High School degree
  • Minimum of two years GMP laboratory testing experience (raw materials, wet chemistry, compendial testing, packaging components), or an Associate's or B.S. in biology, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field with a minimum of one year GxP experience.
  • Knowledge of standard laboratory techniques.
  • Position may require employees to work in a rotational schedule. This schedule may include holidays, and weekends; over-time may be required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Associate's or B.S. in a scientific discipline
  • Some experience in quality control, validation, documentation, and compliance.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers, subordinates, and senior personnel in multidisciplinary environments, including engineering, facility operations, validation, production, and QA.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and decide on the appropriate course of action.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform all job duties with limited supervision.
  • Familiarity with cGMPs, facility regulatory guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to understand client needs and interact with people from various domains, including Regulatory, QA, and other analytical groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a solid team player within a team-based organization.

The QC Laboratory Technician will:

  • Perform viable air, viable surfaces, swabs, non-viable air sample collection, and utility sampling. Perform associated sample readings/testing.
  • Generate all necessary paperwork and labels to meet SOP requirements. Collect and manage PEMS data, ensuring completeness and accuracy in compliance with GMPs.
  • Assist senior staff in harmonizing compendial methods across vaccine sites, review documents, identify potential gaps, and revise documents. Handle special projects, abnormal test results, investigations, and validation studies. Identify and escalate data trends as needed.
  • Maintain and order reagents, supplies, and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and validated status. Perform routine laboratory tasks such as safety checks, autoclaving, glass washing, and equipment calibration. Ensure labs maintain 'GMP, safe, analytical-testing readiness' status.
  • Communicate and report operational status and variances to supervisors. Take appropriate actions and escalate issues immediately. Perform all tasks with a safety mindset, adhering to EHS guidelines.
