We are seeking an experienced Principal Scientist, Computational Chemistry to join a stealth mode computation and AI powered small molecule drug discovery biotech based in Princeton, New Jersey, which aims to build a world class computational drug discovery platform by merging physics-based modeling and modern AI/machine learning technologies, while fully utilising an industry-leading high-performance computing resource. With a team of highly accomplished drug hunters, empowered by and tightly integrated with the platform, we strive to discover breakthrough medicines. This role is on a remote-basis.
Responsibilities:
- Apply state-of-the-art computation-powered drug design techniques to design and optimise candidate molecules to achieve desired potency and properties, in close collaboration with our medicinal chemistry colleagues.
- Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and implementation of innovative computational approaches that improve research productivity and success, in close collaboration with our technology development colleagues.
- Independently design, develop and execute research plans, contributing to multiple projects.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Computational Chemistry or related fields, with three or more publications.
- Significant accomplishments and demonstrated creativity in small molecule drug designs with a several years' industrial experience.
- Understanding of computational chemistry principles and their application within a multidisciplinary drug discovery environment.
- Broad experience in a variety of computational chemistry methods, including molecular dynamics, quantum chemistry, protein modeling, etc.
- Working knowledge of physical and organic chemistry, retrosynthetic design, physical chemical properties, biological assays, and PKDM properties.
- Proficiency in scientific scripting and programming languages, preferably Python.
- Familiarity with standard modeling software.
- A successful candidate will have strong communication skill and an enabling attitude, be a problem solver and have a desire to work in a collaborative manner in a team environment.
