Proclinical is seeking a Plant Process Engineer to provide engineering expertise and support for the Neuchâtel site. In this role, you will ensure the continuous operation of production activities while adhering to relevant standards and customer needs. You will act as a technical expert for equipment and processes, supporting investigations, troubleshooting, and implementing improvements. This position focuses on bulk production areas and involves collaboration across various projects and teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned installations.
  • Provide expertise in systems and production equipment, including bioreactors, filtration systems, chromatography, process piping, CIP/SIP systems, and more.
  • Lead or support the design, installation, commissioning, and qualification of equipment improvements or upgrades.
  • Proactively assess and maintain the technical condition of equipment, proposing corrective actions or improvements as needed.
  • Organize and coordinate corrective actions, modifications, and optimizations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards, including cGMP, GEP, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and apply engineering procedures and company standards.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as a system expert.
  • Lead obsolescence management programs.
  • Assist project teams with protocol execution, documentation review, punch list management, and troubleshooting.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Degree in engineering (biotechnology, chemistry, food processing, or mechanical engineering preferred).
  • Experience in process engineering, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical/biotech facility operations.
  • Familiarity with equipment such as bioreactors, process vessels, chromatography systems, CIP/SIP systems, and autoclaves.
  • Knowledge of Good Engineering Practices (cGxPs), FDA guidelines, ISPE guidelines, ASTM2500, and ASME-BPE standards.
  • Proficiency in French and English; German is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and MS Project.
  • Problem-solving abilities, technical learning aptitude, and action-oriented mindset.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on approach and readiness for practical activities.
