This Medical Affairs Lead, Haematology job is an exciting opportunity to join one of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies in their Medical Affairs team. This leading Swiss pharmaceutical company are currently looking to hire a Medical Affairs Lead to be based at their site in the Netherlands. Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the leadership and management of a Medical Affairs Team of Medical Advisers (MAs) and Medical Scientific Liaison (MSLs).
  • Build and implement high-quality standardized processes together with the other Managers Medical Affairs as to ascertain alignment and consistency across the Medical Affairs Teams.
  • Ascertain cross-functional alignment with other company departments and the development of aligned strategic plans for the optimal dissemination of medical-scientific evidence by the Medical Affairs Team in pre- and post-product launch phases in accordance with local health authority guidelines.
  • Accountable for the implementation and execution of Medical Affairs product-specific strategic and tactical plans.
  • Drive the consolidation of KOL and key account insights as to support the development of the Medical and CPO product strategies.
  • Accountable for the performance management evaluation process and Organizational Talent Review process of the MAs and MSLs.
  • Ensure optimal contribution to the business objectives from a medical-scientific perspective through the organization of the evaluation and review of the CDPs and the realization of strategic portfolio management within the Medical Research Board.
  • Ascertain prelaunch activities are executed flawlessly and high-quality medical-scientific information is provided to and collected from KOLs and other external stakeholders as to contribute to the successful launches of company products.
  • Ascertain the identification and approach of KOLs and other relevant external stakeholders in line with the strategy 2 - 3 years prior to the launch of a product.
  • Ascertain the establishment and maintenance of high-quality strategic partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other relevant external stakeholders, monitor the relevant KPIs and oversee the proceedings of the Medical Affairs activities as aligned with the relevant cross-functional teams.
  • Drive and manage Medical Affairs activities and ensure alignment with the Global strategy and other relevant functions, including Marketing and Market Access.
  • Facilitate and manage IITs in accordance with the local regulation and processes, including:
  • Assess individual (S)AEs from clinical studies.
  • Be the consulting expert for HCPs on drug-related issues for individual patient cases.
  • Discuss specific patient cases with HCPs upon request.

Skills and Requirements:

  • A University Background. Preferred: MD, PharmD, pharmacist or PhD in biomedical sciences.
  • Proven leadership and experience in the pharmaceutical industry, of which 2-3 years in a management and/or team leadership role.
  • Proven competence in developing strategic capabilities.
  • Superior leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively lead, coach and manage medical-scientific professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of the market preparation and access requirements, encompassing medical strategies and market trends.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of drug development.
  • Proven business mindset including innovative and critical thinking with performance-oriented drive.
  • Thorough understanding of internal/external ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong personal integrity, teamwork abilities, and a customer focus are necessary.
  • Thorough knowledge of the organization and funding of the Dutch healthcare system.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross functional & international environment.
