Proclinical is currently recruiting for a Marketing Communications Specialist with a pharmaceutical company located in Boston, MA. We are seeking a copywriter with pharmaceutical experience to play a foundational role building our in-house creative team.
This role will work on a variety of projects for the Complement business unit for two rare disease states: atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (atypical-HUS) and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). You will be responsible for creating health-focused web copy, emails, social media posts, as well as other needs that arise within the business unit. Candidate must have proven ability to distill complicated scientific/medical information into understandable, patient-friendly copy, as well as write at a more scientifically advanced level for our physician audiences.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop both static and modular digital content for web, emails, social media, and digital advertising, as needed.
- Manage claims/references as part of medical legal review submissions.
- Deep understanding of how best to talk to patients, using both internal brand and medical experts and secondary research to refine messaging for assigned disease states.
- Defend strength of ideas in Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review while remaining receptive to feedback and further explorations that may be deemed more effective or appropriate.
- Seek opportunities to optimize, test, or advance new capabilities and share learnings across the organization as the team evolves.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and utilize Jira, as part of agile marketing process.
Skills and Requirements:
- Strong portfolio of impactful work in the healthcare/life sciences space.
- Bachelor's degree + minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in healthcare advertising with digital experience required.
- Healthcare or pharmaceutical experience required, preferably at an agency.
- Demonstrate understanding of digital design, agile methodology, and UX best practices. Familiarity with Figma interactive design tool preferred.
- Proven ability to clearly communicate complicated medical information in both layman's terms and to the scientific community.
- Demonstrated ability and flexibility writing both long- and short-form content that includes rounds of iterations on a single topic.
- Understanding of brand voice using a brand book + auditing materials for adherence to standards.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally across teams (omnichannel strategy, marketing, IT, insights).
- Agile to respond quickly to client or internal needs and provide feedback with scalable solutions.
- Able to stay focused and affable even with multiple deliverables and deadlines.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills.
- Experience or familiarity with agile marketing and processes.
