Proclinical is seeking a Biomarker Data Scientist to oversee analytical biomarker strategies and data analysis for clinical programs. This role involves working on both early and late-stage development projects, contributing to biomarker-driven study designs, and advancing decision-making through quantitative methods. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust data analysis and reproducible science while leveraging modern computational tools and platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee statistical analysis for biomarker strategies in autoimmune and immunological disorder trials.
- Translate exploratory research questions into testable quantitative strategies and implement robust analyses, including longitudinal models and time-to-event analysis.
- Interpret and report results to drive program decisions and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Conduct innovative analysis of biomarker and multi-omics data, integrating across modalities such as transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.
- Set standards for reproducible data analysis workflows and mentor teams in advanced R practices for bioinformatics.
- Champion data reusability and traceability best practices, ensuring compliance for regulatory interactions when required.
- Partner with teams to develop biomarker dashboards and visualizations using tools like R-Shiny or Spotfire.
- Utilize modern compute collaboration tools, including Git workflows, cloud platforms, and data engineering patterns.
- Provide thought leadership in biomarker analysis and contribute to regulatory meetings as needed.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Advanced degree in Biostatistics, Biomedical Science, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in R and Bioconductor package ecosystems; experience with Python for scientific computing and machine learning is a plus.
- Expertise in biomarker methods, including surrogate markers, diagnostic and prognostic methods, and pharmacodynamic analysis.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex statistical findings for cross-functional teams.
- Experience with statistical methods for high-dimensional biomarker data, including feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, and survival analysis.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning workflows and familiarity with cloud-based platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
- Knowledge of CDISC standards and submission metadata.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as R-Shiny or Spotfire.
- Ability to work on-site in Ghent for two days per week.
