Laboratory Assistant

Proclinical is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant for a pharmaceutical company located in Cambridge, MA. Successful candidate will provide operational support to the Research and Early Development labs, encompassing both chemistry and biology expertise areas.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform daily inventories and ensure laboratory supplies are ordered, restocked, and available as needed.
• Effectively communicate with end users, providing daily updates on the availability of laboratory consumables and status of equipment repairs.
• Coordinate laboratory equipment repairs with internal and external resources; perform routine maintenance on basic equipment.
• Assist laboratory end users during scheduled lab and cold storage clean-outs and ensure basic housekeeping and organization in the lab spaces.
• Identify inefficiencies or opportunities for process improvement in the lab environment.
• Ensure a safe working environment by identifying, reporting, and eliminating potential workplace hazards.
• In partnership with EHS, perform routine lab safety inspections and walkthroughs, and participate in monthly safety committees.

Skills and Requirements:

• BS in a scientific discipline or High School degree with 2-5 years of experience in a research laboratory environment.
• Experience with procurement systems, especially purchase order requisitions and various catalog formats.
• Experience with Department of Transportation and hazardous material shipping regulations preferred.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office; experience with asset management systems and other web-based software platforms a plus.
• Position requires excellent time management and organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and a high attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs required.
