Histology Technican

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the role of Histology Technician. This role is integral to multidisciplinary team and will provide technical support to various projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with researchers and other team members. Experience in tissue preparation for histological analysis is highly valued.

Responsibilities:
- Provide support within the Histology hub to enhance workflows and assist the Histology Specialist.
- Handle tissue processing, embedding, and sectioning both FFPE and cryo, as well as section staining.
- Contribute to Hub maintenance and housekeeping.
- Manage sample tracking and maintain accurate records.

Key Skills and Requirements:
- Proficiency in tissue preparation, grossing, and embedding of tissues.
- Advanced skills in microtomy (cryo and paraffin cutting) and extensive experience in staining (H&E, special stains, and IHC).
- Experience working with a wide variety of tissues and the ability to troubleshoot difficult tissues.
- Excellent record-keeping skills and practical experience using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and show initiative in work planning and prioritization.

Desirable Skills:
- Experience in FISH staining techniques, such as RNAscope.
- Previous work with human tissue.
- Adaptable approach to changing work priorities.
