Proclinical are recruiting a Head of Preclinical Development - AI Drug Discovery for a biotech establishment. This role is on a permanent basis. The client is focused on changing the search for new remedies, interventions, mechanisms and genetic assistance.
Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will partake in the design of target product profiles and preclinical development methods to progress resources from findings through candidate selection and IND-facilitating studies.
- Guide a team of project leaders, project managers, oligonucleotide chemists as well as both in vitro and in vivo pharmacologists.
- Supervise the development and documentation of study protocols for data evaluation, analysis and comprehension, along with documentation and reporting the results.
- Collaborate with discovery biology to progress objectives seamlessly from validation/viability studies into nomination for pipeline.
- Guarantee project learnings are being leveraged across the portfolio and make recommendations to increase effectiveness as well as save cost and time.
- Other duties may be assigned to this role.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Educated to a PhD degree level or similar in a pharmacology, toxicology or similar fields.
- Demonstrated ability to guide non-clinical drug development such as pharmacology, toxicology, formulation, regulatory and DMPK.
- At least 10+ years of experience in the non-clinical examination of innovative therapeutics, ideally with familiarity of siRNA/oligonucleotide therapeutics.
- Acquaintance with designing and implementing a variety of animal model studies, ideally within the field of metabolic disorders.
- Works well in a team and demonstrated experience of this within a biotech start-up setting ideally.
- Leadership skills.
- Familiarity with interacting with regulators and in preparing pertinent documentation.
- Past involvement guiding/being included in collaborative projects with any other biopharma associates would be beneficial to the role.
- Comprehension and expertise on drug discovery and development procedure.
- Interpersonal abilities.
- Communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Able to think critically and exhibit troubleshooting capabilities as well as the ability to resolve issues.
