Proclinical is seeking a Field Applications Engineer, Mechanical Testing for a large cutting-edge medical device company located in Minneapolis, MN.

As an Applications Engineer, you will play a crucial role in upholding their world-renowned reputation by ensuring the seamless utilization of scientific instrumentation. In this role, you will collaborate across departments, including Sales, Service, Product Management, and Engineering, to offer pre- and post-sale assistance to the global customer base.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Applications Expertise: Offer specialized Applications support for mechanical testing product lines, particularly focusing on ElectroForce instruments such as load frames, fatigue, high force DMA, test benches, and cardiovascular instruments.
  • Empower Sales Efforts: Conduct feasibility tests to analyze customer samples, producing comprehensive reports with insightful data analysis to drive successful sales outcomes.
  • Collaborative Sales Support: Collaborate closely with Sales Representatives, offering technical proficiency to facilitate successful business closures.
  • Demonstration Leadership: Take charge of guiding impactful demonstrations, both within our state-of-the-art Applications Lab and at various customer sites.
  • Facility Maintenance: Contribute to the upkeep of our applications lab facilities, ensuring they remain conducive to innovative research and customer engagement.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent our company's expertise by actively participating in conferences and tradeshows, showcasing our commitment to innovation and excellence.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science; Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Relevant industrial experience is a strong advantage, demonstrating your hands-on understanding of mechanical testing and instrumentation.
  • Prior exposure to Electro-Force test instruments and WinTest software is highly preferred, showcasing your adaptability and familiarity with our product offerings.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, enabling you to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to various stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 30-40% of the time) by both air and ground carriers, allowing you to directly engage with our diverse customer base.
