Epidemiologist - Contract - Remote in US

Proclinical is seeking an Epidemiologist to contribute to advancing drug development and medication safety.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role focuses on improving disease understanding, supporting clinical trial design, and contributing to post-marketing surveillance activities. You will work on synthesizing evidence, designing research protocols, and analyzing healthcare data to inform decision-making in medicine development.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Expertise in applying epidemiological methods to support medicine development, safety, and effectiveness.
  • Proven experience leading pharmaco-epidemiologic research programs in a drug development or related environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present scientific evidence effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in epidemiology or a related field such as public health, health outcomes research, or pharmaceutical sciences.

The Epidemiologist's responsibilities will be:

  • Enhance understanding of diseases, including their incidence, prevalence, risk factors, natural history, treatment patterns, and unmet needs across various demographics and geographies.
  • Support clinical trial design by identifying target populations, developing protocols, and aiding patient recruitment and data collection.
  • Contribute to medication safety evaluations by providing background event rates, conducting meta-analyses, and identifying high-risk populations.
  • Assist in post-marketing surveillance, including risk evaluation, mitigation strategies, and epidemiological studies for signal detection and treatment benefit-risk assessments.
  • Critically appraise existing epidemiological evidence and generate new insights through research plans, protocols, and database analyses.
