Proclinical is looking for a remote Senior Director, Medical Affairs Scientist for a leading biopharmaceutical company. As the Senior Director, you will be responsible for scientific leadership across various Medical Affairs functions, including evidence generation, scientific communications, publications, and external engagements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as medical subject matter expert for therapeutic areas of interest to the client
- Develop deep scientific knowledge base of the client's products, their target disease states and the competitive landscape, and a solid understanding of the relevant physician communities and their treatment patterns
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Leadership, Commercial, Clinical Development, Market Access, and Corporate Communications, to ensure alignment on medical strategies and core communication platforms
- Engage with external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders, investigators, medical societies, advocacy organizations, and payers to gain insight to inform Medical Affairs strategies in support of clinical development and commercialization programs
- Responsible to establish strategy and oversee Medical Affairs evidence generation, including Investigator Sponsored Trial (IST) Program
- Serve as scientific resource to support Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) such as Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies, and development of materials to support Market Access and payer engagements
- Serve as medical subject matter expert to support publication efforts and contribute to development, review and approval of scientific communication materials for internal training and external engagements
- Ensure compliance with all external regulations and internal policies and guidelines
- Responsible for development and execution of individual development plan
Skills and Requirements:
- MD, PharmD, PhD or similar life sciences degree, preferably with Medical Affairs and Oncology experience, ideally in hematological cancers.
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience in Medical Affairs, or equivalent experience and skill set to support the responsibilities.
- This Director Level role will require strong scientific acumen, preferably a background in Hematologic Malignancies (ideally within Myeloproliferative Neoplasms)
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skill, including formal presentation skills, and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and execute against key objectives and deliverables, on time and within budget.
- Resourceful, flexible, and ability to adapt to changing conditions in a fast-paced organization.
- Motivated, self-starter who engages quickly, rolls up their sleeves and operates very effectively in a high-performance smaller, biopharmaceutical organization.
- Understanding of compliance matters with the ability to interpret appropriately
- Working knowledge of CRM systems and advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and a strong aptitude for adapting to new software and apps.
- Ability to travel and manage a demanding schedule, which may require some evening and weekend availability (anticipated travel up to 40%).
