Proclinical are recruiting a Director of Medical Affairs, UK and Ireland for a biotech corporation. This role is on a permanent basis and allows for remote-working anywhere within the UK. The client is focused on improving health on an international level with novel solutions to avoid serious illnesses.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing the medical strategy and medical launch plan in the elected region.
  • Assist as a subject matter expert on company products for several external stakeholders across various situations (in-person, virtual, conferences, advisory boards, etc.).
  • Aid with the commercial strategy within the assigned region as suitable; deliver medical and scientific expertise in corresponding with multiple stakeholders involving the company's regional general manager, local country-specific COVID-19 vaccine task forces, health ministries, possible partners, significant opinion leaders, and vaccine policy decision makers.
  • Organise and partake in post-market studies with the objective to produce scientific evidence to further support product value proposition through recognition of study investigators, study sites, study design, protocol generation, and study site interaction.
  • The ideal candidate will co-operate on the formation of new scientific material (abstracts, posters, oral presentations, manuscripts) to upsurge the scientific visibility of the company.
  • Attend as an advisor to develop a sound value proposition with medically pertinent messaging based on the scientific communication platform of the company's COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccines for scientific exchange and education with the main thought leaders and clinicians.
  • Collaborate with the cross-functional team serving as the point person to develop content for Advisory Boards involving outlining the objectives, aims, agendas, and chair selection within the region.
  • Manage the outreach efforts to crucial medical associations as well as immunisation support and advocacy groups in the selected region.
  • You will represent the company at national and international meetings as well as advisory boards and educate on the company's products and proficiencies for vaccine research.
  • Expand the ex-US Medical Affairs team as fitting and handle country-level Medical Science Liaisons if/when required.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD, DO, or comparable); it is required for you to possess a PhD, or PharmD.
  • At least 5+ years of experience working in vaccines/infectious disease of which at least 3 of those years spent within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
  • Ideally have prior experience in vaccines.
  • Previous experience in marketed product pre-launch strategic planning and post-launch support activities.
  • Former experience operating with public health and public policy making bodies/organisations within the allocated region.
  • Solid social and team collaboration skills with the capability to build consensus.
  • Established communication, formal presentation, and teaching skills.
  • Possess a results-oriented work ethic.
  • Fluency in the English language with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceedingly motivated with high professional, personal, and ethical values.
  • Reliable standing with the aptitude to appropriately represent the company's products and technology to the medical community.
  • Able and willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
