Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and strategic Procurement CMO Category Manager. This role will focus on developing and executing supplier strategies, coordinating source-to-contract activities, and contributing to the definition of the category purchasing budget. This role can be based across europe.
Responsibilities:
- Perform key activities along the source-to-contract value chain
- Support the development of category strategy in collaboration with the Group Procurement Head
- Coordinate sourcing activities and engage in tenders/negotiations with key suppliers
- Identify global industry and supplier trends to develop potential opportunities
- Support the management of vendor performance and contribute to the definition and collection of procurement KPIs
- Collaborate with suppliers to identify improvement initiatives
- Assess potential contract manufacturing partners based on technical capabilities, quality standards, and capacity
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define technical specifications, quality standards, and procurement requirements
- Manage all contracts under scope from start to finish
- Build strong commercial relationships
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical, or a related field
- Experience in procurement, with a focus on contract manufacturing within the pharmaceutical industry or a relevant commercial role in a contract manufacturing organization
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional European languages would be beneficial
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and supplier relationship management
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, quality standards, and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive procurement decisions
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools
- Leadership and team management experience
- Ability to adapt in a fast and dynamic environment
