Buyer - Permanent - Springfield MO

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual for the role of Buyer.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of materials across various portfolios, managing supplier relationships and driving cost savings. This role will also play a crucial part in risk management and continuous process improvement within the purchasing team.

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or other alternative experience.
An APICS certification (CPIM) is preferred.
Proven working experience of purchasing demand/production planning within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement teams and activities.
Expert understanding of Oracle (or similar) MRP based planning system.
Expert capability in modern sourcing principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities for multiple projects.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
A true sense of urgency.
Ability to analyze cost effectiveness and make sound commercial/business decisions.

The Buyer's responsibilities will be:

Procure all products, managing all aspects of materials supply.
Negotiate with suppliers for the best price, quantity, and delivery timescales.
Drive cost savings and maintain relationships with existing suppliers while sourcing new ones.
Ensure products are delivered on promised dates.
Identify and manage supply chain risks, communicating with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risks.
Proactively resolve any supply issues and problem-solve.
Drive initiatives and continuous process improvement to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
Generate internal management reports for the purchasing team.
Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvements sessions.
Cooperate and communicate closely with internal stakeholders such as Lab technicians/managers, Logistics, Finance, Quality to drive purchasing metrics.
