An internationally renowned pharmaceutical company is currently advertising a R&D Scientist to their office in Belgium. This top 10 pharma company works across multiple sectors, including medical devices, pharmaceutical research, and consumer health. The vacancy offers an exciting opportunity to work with a company with over 100,000 professionals around the globe.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting methods using established methodology.
  • Plans and conducts experiments and analyses and interprets the results.
  • Keeps accurate records of work undertaken. Reviews reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provides documentation to help supervisor with the preparation of technical reports, manuscripts, and other documents that record data or results.
  • Writes and updates protocols and reports.
  • Participates in the origination or direction of experiments, through the development of methodologies.
  • Unpack shipments and place items into designated areas based on established protocols.
  • Check-in new compound samples following standard procedures.
  • Following established guidelines, weigh & solubilize library compounds as part of daily tasks.
  • Daily prepare compound plates for screening following established Compound Logistics protocols.
  • Execute established QC protocols on liquid handling instrumentation on a weekly basis.
  • Store vials, tubes and plates in dedicated automated storage systems.
  • Ensure that all routine testing is performed in a timely manner in line with agreed schedules.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field required.
  • Experience in compound logistics and sample tracking is highly desired.
  • Hands-on experience with automated liquid handling platforms (Tecan/Hamilton liquid handlers, Echo acoustic dispensing equipment,) and automated storage systems (Kardex, Hamilton, Brooks, TTP Labtech,) is a plus.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
